Tvrdon And Musil Win At World Juniors

At Day 2 of the World Junior Championships, Marek Tvrdon scored the game winning goal to lead Slovakia to a 3-1 victory over Latvia. He finished the night +1 and needless to say was pretty excited to score in his debut at the World Juniors. “I’ve not scored in the WHL in eight games and I’m very happy today,” Tvrdon said. He and the Slovaks will face off against the defending champions from Russia tomorrow in Calgary.

David Musil and the Czech Republic opened the tournament with a convincing 7-0 victory over Denmark. Musil finished the night with no points, but was a +2. Musil now will face Don Hay, Brendan Gallagher, and the rest of Team Canada tomorrow night in Edmonton.
