Prospects Lead North West Giants To 4th Place Finish At Telus Cup

The Vancouver North West Giants finished 4th at the Telus Cup in St. John’s, Newfoundland after losing 5-3 to the Lions Du Lac St.Louis in the bronze medal game Sunday. The BC Major Midget Champions featured 4 Vancouver Giants Prospects.

Forward Jackson Houck from North Vancouver, a 3rd round bantam pick of the Giants in 2010, led the tournament with 9 goals, including 7 on the power play. He finished with 12 points in 7 games. 16 year old defenceman Cam Marks, who was listed by the Giants, also had an impressive tournament. The North Vancouver native finished with 1 goal, 8 assists, and 9 points in the 7 games. Dexter Dancs was selected by the Giants in the 12th round of the 2010 WHL bantam draft. The 16 year old forward had 1 goal in the 7 games. Rounding out the contingent of Vancouver Giants prospects was goaltender Scott Legault. The product of Sechelt, who was listed by Vancouver, finished the event 2-1 with a 4.50 GAA and .862 SV%.

The Winnipeg Thrashers won the Telus Cup defeating the London Jr. Knights 3-1 in the final.
