Musil And Tvrdon Wrap Up World Junior Championships

David Musil and the Czech Republic got the better of Marek Tvrdon and Slovakia Wednesday night as the Czechs defeated Slovakia 5-2 to finish 5th at the 2012 World Junior Championships. The Czech Republic outshot Slovakia 46-31 and got goals from five different players on route to victory. Slovakia finishes in 6th place.

In 5 games at the tournament, Musil had zero points, but was a team best +5, logging major minutes vs. the opposition’s top scorers. Tvrdon finished with 3 goals (2nd most on the team) and 4 points in 6 games, but was held off the scoresheet in the 5/6 game against the Czech Republic.

Both players are expected to return to Vancouver on Thursday and will be available for Saturday’s game vs. the Portland Winterhawks.
