Giants Win 3-2 in Overtime Against Seattle

Payton Lee and Arvin Atwal combined early and late to lead the Vancouver Giants to a 3-2 overtime win in Seattle.

Lee made 25 saves including 7 in the first 10 minutes before the Giants got their first shot of the game.  Atwal won the game 23 seconds into overtime with a shot from the top of the face off circle, his 3rd goal and 2nd in as many games.

Taylor Vickerman, returning to the line up from injury, gave the Giants a 1-0 lead in the second period, but Vancouver still needed  a goal from Cain Franson to tie the game at 2 midway through the 3rd to force overtime.

The Giants are now unbeaten in 6 trips to overtime this season, four of those wins have come in shootouts.

After losing 9 straight on the road, the Giants have now won back-to-back road games for the first time this season.

The Giants are back in Seattle on Sunday, but first will face the top team in the WHL in Portland on Saturday afternoon. Game time is 3 pm with the pre game show starting at 2:30 on the Team 1040.
