Giants Battle Hard But Lose to Silvertips

The Everett Silvertips scored late in the third period to break a five-all tie en route to a 6-5 victory over the Vancouver Giants Friday night at the Pacific Coliseum.

Matt Hayer scored the game-winner for the Silvertips to complete his hat trick.

The Giants battled back to tie the game three times but failed to get a lead.

Brett Kulak and Cain Franson each had two goals and an assist in the game. Travis McEvoy had the other Vancouver goal.

The Giants had 32 shots on goal and was 2-for-4 on the power play.
