Vancouver Giants forward Brendan Gallagher was 1 of 9 players cut Tuesday morning by Canada’s national junior team. Others released in the first round of cuts included Portland’s Brad Ross, Medicine Hat’s Linden Vey, Kootenay’s Brayden McNabb, and Chilliwack Bruins forward Ryan Howse. That leaves the team with 31 players. Final cuts are expected tomorrow when the 22-man roster is finalized for the 2011 World Junior Championships in Buffalo. As for Gallagher, he will return to Vancouver and join the Giants for their final 3 game road trip prior to the Christmas break. They will be in Everett Wednesday night, Tri-City Friday night, and Spokane on Saturday night.
