Vancouver Beats Medicine Hat 3-2

The Vancouver Giants put forth one of their best efforts of the season defeating the Medicine Hat Tigers 3-2 Friday night at the Pacific Coliseum. The Giants have now won 5 of their last 6 games.

After surrendering the opening goal, Vancouver responded 45 seconds later courtesy of Spencer Bennett as he potted his 17th of the season to tie the game at 1-1 through 20 minutes of play.

In the second the Tigers took the lead again, but the Giants top line had an answer as Brendan Rowinski snapped home his 9th of the year to make it a 2-2 after 2 periods.

The Giants controlled most of the play through the first half of the third period and then on the power play they would make no mistake. Bennett scored his 2nd of the night and 18th of the season to give the home team a 3-2 lead. Mark Segal shut the door the rest of the way, making 30 saves for his 14th victory of the year. 3-2 was the final.

Vancouver is back in action tomorrow night at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, Washington when they take on the Tri-City Americans. Game time is 7:05pm. The pregame show begins at 6:35pm on AM 650.
