White Spot Giants This Week Recap: September 28

Brett Cullen

Last night on White Spot Giants This Week with Dan O’Connor, the show kicked off with a conversation with second-year  Giants defenceman Jacob Gendron. The pride of Prince George, B.C. suited up in 55 games for the G-Men in 2019-20, and is poised for a bigger role on the team’s blueline in 2020-21. In this conversation, Gendron talked about some of the learning lessons from Year 1, and also some of the challenges that he’s encountered trying to stay ready for when the puck finally drops in 2020-21. That entire conversation with Jacob Gendron can be heard right here:

Then in Segment 2, the conversation shifted locally to Sportsnet 650/News 1130 sports anchor Chris Wahl. For the past two seasons, Wahl has played an integral part on the Giants radio broadcasts, serving as the pre-game, intermission and post-game host for home games and there were no shortage of topics discussed last night. Conversation topics included:

  • Bowen Byram’s future.
  • Giants eligible for the the 2020 NHL Draft.
  • Which WHL player will be the first one picked in 2020.
  • What teams on paper stack up the best for 2020-21.
