This week promises to be one of the most fun, delicious weeks of the entire calendar year at Tim Hortons. The Giants are so proud to partner with this legendary Canadian institution, and this week we both felt that it would be appropriate to showcase Tim Hortons and our partnership with them right as the Smile Cookie Campaign is set to begin. So, before you race out to your nearest Tim Hortons to buy up all of the cookies, please take a few moments to learn more in this Q & A conversation with Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer, Tim Hortons.
1) Tell us about the “mission” of your business as it pertains to your customers and the community organizations that you sponsor and support?
This year, the annual Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign runs from September 14 – 20 in participating restaurants across Canada.
During the campaign, guests can enjoy a freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookie for $1, plus applicable taxes, and the Tim Hortons restaurant owners will donate the full $1 from each cookie sold back to local charities – like BC Children’s Hospital here in the Lower Mainland and Canuck Place Dave Lede House in Abbotsford.
2) How long have you been partnering with the Vancouver Giants? Why is this partnership important to you?
Since Day 1! 20 years and counting. Tim Hortons is proud to support hockey at all levels in Canada; starting with Timbits minor hockey, junior hockey across the province and the Vancouver Canucks.
3) Do you have a favourite Vancouver Giants player/memory?
Our favorite time of year is when the Giants open up their arena to local Timbits minor hockey associations and the kids get to interact with the players. It’s become an annual tradition and we love being a part of everyone’s hockey journey here in the Lower Mainland.
4) What do you want your customers/our fans to know about the current state of your business?
“Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve been treating local food banks, hospitals and charities to our coffee trucks and baked goods as they support their communities day in and day out. We’re continuing to support these organizations as we kick off our annual Smile Cookie week, one of our largest restaurant owner-led initiatives, that continues to support local charities who need it most. We’re so excited Smile Cookie is back for its 24th year.”
5) Please feel free to add anything else on behalf of your business that you would like our fans to know?
From September 14-20 please go buy plenty of Smile Cookies and support your local charities.
