Tendeck’s 38 Saves Lead the Giants to A 4-0 Victory Over Prince George

Saturday night at the Langley Events Centre the Vancouver Giants (11-8-1-1) defeated the Prince George Cougars (4-15-0-2) by a 4-0 score. Goaltender David Tendeck stopped all 38 shots he faced to earn his league-leading third shutout of the season, and the 10th of his WHL career. Tristen Nielsen (1G, 2A), Milos Roman (2G) and Justin Sourdif (2A) combined for seven points up front for the Giants who are now unbeaten in regulation over their past six games. Rookie goaltender Tyler Brennan made 19 saves for the Cougars.



1st Period:

 VAN – Milos Roman got the offense started for the Giants at 6:07 off a backhand deke from in close. Tristen Nielsen and Dylan Plouffe assisted on the play.

Shots: 13-8 Prince George

2nd Period:

VAN – Cole Shepard made it 2-0 for the Giants at 9:20. Zack Ostapchuk won the faceoff to Shepard along the right-wing. From there, Shepard took one step, and roofed his fourth of the season past Tyler Brennan.

VAN – Then with less than two seconds to go in the second, Milos Roman struck for a second time off a miscue beside the Cougars goal. Justin Sourdif and Tristen Nielsen both assisted on Roman’s 10th goal.

Shots: 13-8 Prince George

3rd Period:

VAN – Tristen Nielsen scored the game’s final goal at 1:20 of the final period. His shot from the right-wing circle went over the left shoulder of Tyler Brennan and under the crossbar for his 10th. Alex Kannok Leipert also assisted on Nielsen’s marker.

Shots: 12-7 Prince George
