PREVIEW: G-MEN HOST RIVAL ROYALS FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON

Rob Wilton
Tonight at the Langley Events Centre the Vancouver Giants (0-1-0-1) look to get the edge on their rivals from the Island as they host the Victoria Royals (0-2-0-0) for the first time in the 2022/23 WHL season. Giants goaltender Jesper Vikman has returned to the team from training camp with the Vegas Golden Knights, and will be between the pipes. The G-Men struggled in this matchup last season, but with a new season comes a clean slate. These teams will face each other ten times in the 2022/23 season.
There will also be a fundraiser at the game, orange t-shirts with an Indigenous-Inspired logo will be available for purchase, they will cost $20 and proceeds will go to programs for Indigenous children through the Be A Giant Foundation. The logo for the shirt was designed by Indigenous Artist from Vancouver Island Chuck Doiron. Following National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, from September 30-October 9, players will be wearing commemorative stickers on their helmets designed by an Indigenous Artist.
