Giants Unable to Overcome Rockets Friday

Kelowna, BC – The Rockets tied the season series as they defeated the Vancouver Giants 5-4 Friday night. The Giants couldn’t stay out of the box, and Kelowna’s power play was the difference.
1st Period:
VAN: Julian Cull opened the scoring with a top-corner snipe from the high slot 2:00 into the game.
VAN: Damian Palmieri added to the Giants lead with a fantastic individual effort that was finished off with a wrap around 2:29 later.
KEL: Adam Kydd got the Rockets on the board with a power play goal on a net front redirection at 11:09 of the period.
KEL: Kelowna tied the game five minutes later with a goal from Ethan Mittelsteadt.
2nd Period:
KEL: Less than a minute into the second, Gabriel Szturc out home a powerplay goal on a 5 on 3 to put Kelowna ahead.
KEL: Carson Golder added to the Rockets lead 8:35 into the second with a goal off the rush.
3rd Period:
KEL: Jackson DeSouza made it 5-2 with a top-corner shot off the rush 6:53 into the final frame.
VAN: Ethan Semeniuk brought it to 5-3 on a rebound 1:12 later.
VAN: Jaden Lipinski brought the game back within one with a shorthanded goal on a breakaway at 18:38 of the third period.
