GIANTS PROSPECT HUTCHISON NAMED VIJHL GOALTENDER OF THE YEAR

Goaltender Matthew Hutchison was presented with the Bruce Naylor trophy yesterday as the VIJHL’s Top Goaltender. Hutchison, drafted 50th Overall in the 2021 WHL Draft by the Giants, has had a dominant season where he finished with a 19-1 record, a 1.82 GAA, and a 0.933 SV% as the youngest goaltender in the league.

Hutchison was also nominated for three other league awards, which will be voted on and presented at the conclusion of the season:

Jamie Benn Trophy (League MVP)

Larry Lamoureaux Trophy (Rookie of the Year)

Mac MacWilliams Memorial Trophy (Unsung Hero)
