Bondra Heads to Slovakia’s World Junior Camp

The Vancouver Giants would like to wish Radovan Bondra the best of luck as he leaves the hockey club to join Slovakia’s World Junior selection camp ahead of the 2017 World Junior Hockey Championship later this month.

Bondra, who hails from Trebisov, Slovakia, leads the Giants in goal scoring with 18 markers in 29 games. The 19-year-old winger has represented his country at the World Juniors on two previous occasions, helping the Slovaks to a bronze medal in 2015. Bondra was a fifth-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2015 NHL Draft and a first-round pick of the Giants in the 2015 CHL Import Draft. He is one of 32 WHLers who were invited to World Junior selection camps.

The Giants return to action this evening when they host the Portland Winterhawks for the annual Teddy Bear Toss, presented by Hyundai! Puck drop is at 7:30pm at the Langley Events Centre. For tickets, click here or call 604.4.GIANTS (604.444.2687).
