Bondra and Slovakia Open World Juniors against Canada

Vancouver Giants forward Radovan Bondra and his Slovak teammates will play their first game at the World Junior Hockey Championships against Team Canada today at 5:00pm on TSN 1 and 4.

Bondra, who hails from Trebisov, Slovakia, leads the Giants in goal scoring with 18 markers in 29 games. The 19-year-old winger has represented his country at the World Juniors on two previous occasions, helping the Slovaks to a bronze medal in 2015. Bondra was a fifth-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2015 NHL Draft and a first-round pick of the Giants in the 2015 CHL Import Draft.

The Giants, meanwhile, will host the Everett Silvertips this evening at the Langley Events Centre. Puck drop is set for 7:00pm. For tickets, click here or call 604.4.GIANTS (604.444.2687).
