Cunningham, Gallagher in NHL Draft
The Vancouver Giants Hockey Club ownership, staff and fans wish
to congratulate forwards Craig Cunningham and Brendan Gallagher
on their selection in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft this past weekend
in Los Angeles. Both Cunningham and Gallagher were stand outs
up front for the Giants throughout the 2009/10 WHL campaign.
Craig Cunningham was selected by the Boston Bruins in the 4th round going 97th overall. And right winger,
Brendan Gallagher was taken in the 5th round by the Montreal Canadiens as the 147th overall pick in this year’s
NHL selection extravaganza.
Scott Bonner, Executive Vice President and General Manager for the Giants attended the NHL Draft and
commented, "Both guys were cornerstones on our club and will be very good choices for there respective teams!
They both combine scoring ability, work ethic and character, 3 traits that will guide them to long pro careers!"
Craig Cunningham, Centre, from Trail, B.C, tallied 37 goals, 60 assists and 44 penalty minutes for the
Giants this past season to lead the team in scoring with 97 points. Cunningham was also a Western Conference
Nominee for 2009/10 WHL Player of the Year.
Right Winger, Brendan Gallagher from Delta, B.C. netted 41 goals and had 40 assists to lead the Giants in
goals for the 2009/10 season.
