Giant Duo Invited to Canada’s Summer Camp
The Vancouver Giants would like to congratulate RW Brendan Gallagher
and D Neil Manning for earning invitations to Hockey Canada’s
National Junior Team development camp, which is scheduled for
early August in St. John’s, NL. Forty-one skaters have been
invited to the camp, including 18 current WHL players.
The players, born in 1991 or 1992, were selected by Hockey Canada
head scout Al Murray, in consultation with head coach Dave Cameron
(Mississauga St. Michael’s, OHL) and assistant coaches Bob
Boughner (Windsor, OHL), Ryan Huska (Kelowna, WHL) and Andre Tourigny
(Rouyn-Noranda, QMJHL). For a complete list of invitees, visit

Gallagher and Manning join a long list of Giants players who
have attended the camp in the past, and are looking to become
the latest Giant named to Team Canada since Evander Kane in 2009.
Giants Executive VP & General Manager Scott Bonner is excited
for his players: “Neil and Brendan are both extremely hard
workers and very important members of our leadership group. They’re
coming off successful seasons and these invitations really prove
they’re among the elite talent group in our league. We know
they’ll represent themselves and our team with pride.”
Gallagher and Manning are both eligible for selection in this
year’s NHL Entry Draft, taking place June 25 and 26 in Los
Angeles.
