Vancouver Giants defenseman Neil Manning has been invited to the Chicago Blackhawks rookie camp. He becomes the 7th player on this year’s roster to attend a NHL camp, joining Brendan Gallagher (MTL), David Musil (EDM), Marek Tvrdon (DET), Wes Vannieuwenhuizen (EDM), Nathan Burns (MIN), and Brendan Jensen (VAN). This will be the second straight year Manning has been invited to a NHL camp. Last year he went to the Philadelphia Flyers camp.
Manning leaves for camp Thursday September 8. He will join the rest of the Blackhawks rookies in Oshawa, Ontario where they will take part in a 4 team rookie tournament along with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, and Pittsburgh Penguins. The event runs September 10-13. The Blackhawks first exhibition game is Tuesday September 20 vs. Edmonton.
