Former Captain Signs With Stanley Cup Champions

Former Vancouver Giants captain Craig Cunningham has signed an entry level contract with the Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins. The franchise’s all-time leader in regular season games played with 295 was drafted by the Bruins in the fourth round, 97th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

The Trail, BC native spent 4 and half seasons in a Vancouver Giants uniform before being traded to the Portland Winterhawks December 28, 2010. In 71 games with Vancouver and Portland last year he had 27 goals and 60 assists for 87 points.

During his decorated 5 year career in the WHL, Cunningham collected 264 points in 330 career regular season games and 63 points in 79 playoff games. He was named the 2010 Western Conference Player of the year, a 1st team Western Conference All-Star in 2010, and won a Memorial Cup Championship in 2007.
