Ron Toigo
Ron Toigo is Managing Director of Shato Holdings Ltd., a private
company found in 1969 with head offices in Vancouver, BC.
His background in junior hockey dates back to the 90’s when
he owned and operated the Tri-City Americans Hockey Club before
selling it in 2000. Currently he is the President and Majority Owner
of this major junior hockey club, The Vancouver Giants.
Serving in the capacity of Tournament Chair, Ron was the driving
force behind the most successful World Junior Tournament in the
history of the event which was hosted in British Columbia in December,
2006.
Ron’s passion for premier hockey events continued as in May
2007 the Vancouver Giants Jr. Hockey Club hosted the 2007 Memorial
Cup, the Major Junior Hockey’s prized championship, for the
first time in over 30 years in Vancouver. To make the championship
a more memorable one, the Vancouver Giants won the championship
title!
Ron is currently the Governor of Western Hockey League, a member
of the Executive Committee of the Western Hockey League, Chair of
the CKNW Orphan’s Fund, a Director of the Delta Police Board
Foundation, and a Director of the BC 2009 World Police & Fire
Games.
Ron and his wife Michele are long-time residents of Tsawwassen,
BC, where their family includes four children. |
