Training Camp 2013: Day 2 Recap

The second day of training camp began with a bit of a roster shuffle as eight players from the rookie group were moved up to the veteran group. Michael Eskra and Bradley Crompton joined the black team. Jesse Roach, Brendan Holterhus and Kole Bryks moved up to the white team. Alec Baer, John Wesley and Ty Ronning joined the grey team.

As a result, the three rookie teams were consolidated into two teams and played each other once in the morning and once in the evening. In the morning game, Tyler Benson scored twice in a losing cause for the white team as they fell 4-3 in overtime to the red team. Phelan Shaw picked up the overtime winner. At night, the red team won again, this time by a score of 4-0. Trevor Gagne had two goals.

The veteran teams played a number of games in the afternoon. Marek Tvrdon had another strong offensive day for the white team, netting four goals, while Jackson Houck chipped in with three goals for the grey team. Cain Franson led the black team with two tallies. Of the rookies that moved up, Eskra, Roach, Baer, Wesley and Ronning found the back of the net on day two.
