Popowich Takes Home Silver at U-17 Challenge

The Vancouver Giants would like to congratulate forward Tyler Popowich on winning a silver medal with Team Canada Black at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

Canada Black lost 2-1 to Sweden in the gold medal game at the tournament on Saturday in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Popowich, who was drafted third overall by the Giants in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft, finished with one assist and two penalty minutes in six games at the tournament. The Surrey native has played 10 games for the Giants this season. It’s his rookie year in the WHL.

The G-Men return to action on Thursday at the Langley Events Centre for White Spot Legends Night when they host the Prince George Cougars. Vancouver will honour late co-owner Pat Quinn ahead of his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame. For tickets, click here or call 604.4.GIANTS (604.444.2687).
