The Vancouver Giants would like to congratulate Dawson Holt, Brendan Semchuk and Dylan Plouffe on being included in NHL Central Scouting’s November Players to Watch List ahead of the 2017 NHL Draft.
All three Giants were rated as ‘C’ prospects, meaning they candidates to be drafted in the fourth, fifth or sixth round.
Holt, a Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native, has nine points in 22 games to begin the 2016/17 season with the Giants. The 17-year-old centreman was the eighth overall pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft and has represented Canada at the World Under-17 Challenge.
Semchuk, a Kamloops product, went 10th overall in the 2014 Bantam Draft. The young winger has 10 points in 22 games to begin his sophomore campaign with the Giants. He has also played for Canada at the World Under-17 Challenge.
Plouffe, a defenceman from Sherwood Park, Alberta, is back for his second season in a Giants uniform, tallying eight points in the first 22 games of the season. The 17-year-old played 59 games for the Giants in 2015/16 after being drafted in the second round of the 2014 Bantam Draft.
