Earlier this month, 2000-born Vancouver Giants prospect Yannik Valenti helped lead Germany to a second place finish at the 2018 IIHF Division 1A World Under-18’s in Latvia. Valenti finished the tournament with five goals and an assist for six points in five games, guiding Germany to a 4-1 record. For his efforts, Valenti was named Top Forward for the tournament.
Selected by the Giants in the second round (66th overall) in the 2017 CHL Import Draft, Valenti signed a Standard WHL Player Agreement with the Giants back in March and will be joining the Giants for 2018-19. Valenti is eligible for the 2019 NHL Draft.
Fun Fact: Yannik Valenti is the second youngest player ever to play in the DEL (German Professional Ice Hockey League).
The Vancouver Giants have signed 2000-born German forward Yannik Valenti to a Standard WHL Player Agreement for next season!
