Giants Get Shut Out in Medicine Hat

The Vancouver Giants deserved a better fate than a 4-0 loss to the Tigers Tuesday night in Medicine Hat.

The Giants played stride for stride in all aspects of the game with the Tigers, except for goal scoring.  Blake Penner scored his first Western Hockey League goal one minute and 21 seconds into the game and it was all they needed  Medicine Hat scored once in the first and second periods and added two in the 3rd.

Cam Lanigan stopped 31 shots for the shut out, Payton Lee faced 34 shots and took the loss in the Giants net.

Vancouver played without newly acquired Rob Trzonowski, who suffered a season ending knee injury Sunday in Calgary.  He will soon undergo surgery.   Also sitting out 20 year old forward Trevor Cheek.

The Giants are 1-3-0-0 on this five game road trip, the final game is Wednesday night in Lethbridge.
